Exclusive | Cirque du Soleil co-founder lists his lavish 50-room Montreal mansion for $9.3 million

You know the French-Canadian circus company Cirque du Soleil for its spectacular productions that transport audiences to fantasy worlds with displays of astonishing physical feats. But how do the people behind it live away from the limelight?

Guy Laliberté, the company’s co-founder, has listed his beautiful Montreal estate for $9.3 million, The Post has learned — and it’s pretty fascinating.

Positioned on prominent Maplewood Street in the Outremont neighborhood at the base of Mount Royal—for which Montreal takes its name—the property spans more than 13,000 square feet on five meticulously designed levels.

Its majestic stone facade and slate roof signal the grandeur that awaits within. An extensive renovation has imbued it with modern elegance.

With 50 rooms, the property includes eight bedrooms and a host of specialist spaces.

It was briefly listed for sale last October for $13.8 million.

The ground floor opens with an entrance hall leading to an office complete with a fireplace, a combined sitting room and library and a light and airy boudoir. A dining room designed for 20 guests adjoins the sunroom, while a chef’s kitchen comes with a prep area.

The first floor, accessible via a grand staircase, hosts seven spacious bedrooms.

The top floor is dedicated to the master suite, a retreat with city and mountain views, cathedral ceilings, double closets, a boudoir and a spacious bathroom featuring a carved stone tub and steam shower.

It’s no wonder entertainment devices are powerful. The first basement—yes, there’s more than one—includes a full bar, a pool room, a DJ booth, a home theater, a gym, and a 500-bottle wine cellar.
